Montei ontem, um eggcrate, com um compressor jogando ar embaixo dele e em pé no refúgio, vamos ver o que vira.

Com pedra porosa, mas não tinha daquelas barras, apenas umas bolas, então coloquei duas com o compressor de ar da boyu.

Voçê tá com Alga no Display.........???

No display tem bem pouca coisa, já no refúgio (que limpei recentemente), toda vez que solto uma rocha lá, coisa de 15 dias já aparece uns fiapos verdes.

Roughed up plastic canvas is the best.
The plastic is too smooth, there is nothing for algae to grab on to.

But algae doesn´t grab even on the glass? Very smoother than plastic

Yes, but the algae grows on the glass doesn't grow thicker, we need thick algae to do the filtering. Algae need something to grab to grow, that's why plastic canvas is the best choice!

What do you think of using a plastic type "tulle" around the eggcrate? Do you think that might work better?

Well...I think that'll work, but SantaMonica has a different opinion. :(
He said that it's better than a eggcrate, however,
1, the string is too thin, algae won't be able to grab.
2. if you cover the eggcrate on one side, the other side either won't grow or grow and rot then stuck in the holes.
3. if you cover the eggcrate all over, algae rot inside between the two sheets of tulle that never can be cleaned.
4. the tulle is hard to brush(clean).

I'll see if I find something at home with more adherent surface or else I will wear that eggcrate to facilitate the attachment of algae.

Why don't just use plastic canvas? Is it hard to find in Brasil?
